In accordance with Article 6.2.24 of GB50160-2008, the feed pipe of a storage tank shall be connected to the lower part of the tank body; if connection from the upper part is necessary, it should extend to a distance of 200 mm from the bottom of the tank. ” If connecting from the bottom, is it sufficient to insert it horizontally, or does it require a bend at the pipe end pointing downward after horizontal insertion? Urgently need help, thanks!
It is best to make a bend at the pipe end with it facing downward after entering horizontally
It seems that neither of the above two options is scientific; I’ve found that it should be a “diffusion-type oil inlet pipe”.
We use horizontal feeding (internal floating roof tank with diffuser tank), with discharge through elbows.
If a flammable liquid is being poured into the tank, a pressure relief pipe can be used at a vertical distance of 200 mm from the center of the tank bottom; once the pipe is inserted into the tank, it should have holes made at 120-degree angles to allow pressure release. If it is necessary to introduce the pipeline from above into the tank, a elbow should be used at a distance of 200 mm plus the pipe diameter from the center bottom of the tank to convert it into a horizontal pipeline; thereafter, a diffuser or a 120-degree perforated pressure-relief pipe should be employed in the design. It is recommended to use a 120-degree perforation for liquid injection, as it offers good cost-performance and complies with the standards! {The length of the horizontal pipe inside the tank should not exceed 2/5 of the tank’s diameter}
