Why does H2S need to be removed? Prevent it from corroding? Prevent subsequent catalyst poisoning? If it enters the combustion system later on, why is it necessary to remove it?

For coke oven gas, is there a process for sulfur recovery? With its H2S content, its recovery value isn’t very high, I guess.
Additionally, in some coke oven gases, the H2S content is not high – only a few hundred mg – so is it possible to avoid desulfurization when these gases are burned later?

No, the current emission standard for sulfur is 50; it will be 30 next year. All coking plants are currently installing devices for sulfur and nitrogen removal

Gas containing sulfur can corrode pipes; sulfur produces toxic and harmful gases when burned, causing environmental pollution and also affecting the calorific value of the gas. Therefore, coke oven gas needs to be desulfurized.
