I have a question: there is an open-room (without a roof) on the 3rd floor of the factory building. (It used to have a roof, but if it’s considered to have no roof, then it’s as if it’s located outdoors.) Equipment that produces a small amount of hydrogen is to be placed there – does that mean that explosion protection is not necessary? Can the entire factory building also be classified as Class V (it was originally Class V)? ? The key point is that there is no evidence to support doing this, and the area of that room exceeds 5%.

I don’t know what category yours falls into, but I have an example from the dye industry: if you look at the workshop itself, it is classified as Category C. However, there is a tank outside used to dissolve iron filings with sulfuric acid in order to produce ferrous sulfate, and hydrogen gas is generated in this tank. During the presentation regarding the safety facility design, the safety supervision agency required that the entire workshop be classified as Category A. Refer to this

There is no such statement; a 5% allocation for Category A refers only to those situations with low risk, such as operations involving paint, toluene, gasoline, etc. However, the case of hydrogenation production is different – who decides whether the facility should be classified as Category A, Type 1, Type 2, or Category E? Both the factory buildings and equipment must be explosion-proof, BT6 grade
