The company has a project to replace the oil transfer equipment. The safety distance from surrounding equipment and structures is insufficient. So I think this project must ensure a safe distance; if that isn’t sufficient, the existing equipment needs to be removed or other solutions need to be found. But the project manager said it was just a project involving equipment replacement, so there was no need to consider the safety distance from surrounding equipment. I should stick to my principles; after all, I’m the designer and bear primary responsibility.
Perseverance is a good thing, but it needs to be based on relevant regulations. I’ve never encountered any requirement for a safety distance between devices; generally, the spacing is determined by the layout standards
For oil transfer pumps, of course, there is a safety distance. Distance from other devices, structures.
In addition to judging right from wrong, one must also calculate gains and losses. Sometimes you do the right thing, but you end up out because you’re not on the same side as the organization
What must be adhered to is that responsibility comes first.
I think it’s better to stick to it; it’s the main designer who is being sentenced now
