Having no experience with this process, let’s try to analyze it: Since activated carbon is used to evaporate the solvent via steam, what remains after separation in the separation tank is mainly condensate, which contains a small amount of solvent. This condensate then enters the aeration tank, where it is aerated before being discharged. At this point, it is still condensate; therefore, gas must come into contact with the residue inside the aeration tank. This has two functions: first, to further separate the solvent through air stripping, and second, to increase the oxygen content in the residue, thereby reducing the COD levels to meet the required standards.
