May I ask what the pressure of the mechanical seal water pumps at the site should be? Our outlet pressure is 0.09 MPa, and there are over 50 pumps that need to transport water. What puzzles us is that the return water temperature isn’t very high, and no heat exchanger is installed. These pumps have been in operation for almost 3 years now, and the mechanical seals on them fail frequently; pipe blockages are also something expected. High-temperature deformation; the mechanical seal is damaged. In other words, there are no water-cooled stationary and rotating rings, and currently some mechanical seals are leaking internally, causing the medium inside the tower to flow back into the seal water. To carry out technical upgrades, is it necessary to replace the pump with a high-power one? Is there anything else to consider?
What kind of water is used? Is it scaled?
Generally, the higher the pressure of the seal water, the better; therefore, it’s fine to use a larger pump.
1. Whether the water supply pressure matches the pump outlet pressure (the flushing water pressure should be higher than the shut-off pressure). 2. Whether the amount of flushing water is sufficient. 3. Whether the flushing water temperature meets the requirements for the mechanical seal. 4. Whether the chosen flushing scheme for the mechanical seal is appropriate
The pressure is too low; it’s usually around 2 kilograms, or it depends on the requirements of the equipment.
