As the title suggests: Can the new framework of the expansion project be combined with the existing setup to form one unit? The currently operating unit is classified as Category B A, and it is planned to expand it. Therefore, does the framework of the expanded unit need to be arranged at fire separation distances corresponding to Category B A, just like the original unit? Is it still possible to build it with a single-phase installation, combining phases one and two into one unit? .
If it can meet the regulatory requirements when combined into a single building (such as total area, safety exits, etc.), then why not? I’m not sure if there are any explicit regulations on this, but I think it’s possible
The key point in the expansion lies in whether the expanded part of this unit follows the process flow of the original unit; if it adheres to the process flow of the original unit, fire separation distances within the unit should be considered. If it is an additional process that is not part of the original unit’s expansion, then Table 4.2.12 should be referenced
