The seal water is highly alkaline; what adverse effects does this have on the system? Seeking advice

The pH level of the seal water tank is 12-13, indicating a strongly alkaline environment (the reason being internal leakage in the seal). What are the consequences of this? I’m seeking advice. All I can analyze at the moment are theoretical considerations: scaling is likely to occur (which affects the water pressure applied to the seal). What’s happening now is that the pump used for the seal has stopped working suddenly; this has not happened before. At first, I thought the motor was damaged, but even the backup pump stopped working as well, and it’s a new motor. The initial reason given for the failure to start was a stuck bearing, which led to thinking about corrosion caused by water quality, or issues with the water quality itself
You combine many things that seem related but are actually not in order to analyze a problem... ...
I suggest trying to replace all the machine seal water with neutral water? Compare them.
