I worked in this department for two years as a process supervisor; my colleagues were also responsible for team management. The team I led transformed from being the weakest team to one that performed exceptionally well, and it was recognized as an outstanding team at the company level for two years in a row (there is only one such team at the company level). Over those two years, I progressed from an ordinary process engineer to a process supervisor. In November last year, I was promoted to assistant department manager. At the beginning of March this year, the general manager spoke with me and said that I would be transferred to the company’s sales department – a department responsible for communicating with clients, issuing work orders to the production department based on client requirements, as well as handling negotiations with clients and drafting contracts. The general manager said he wanted to transfer me there, with a three-month trial period, and that’s all he said after that. I have no idea what his intentions are, but I know that as the general manager of a company, one doesn’t talk too much to subordinates who are several ranks below them, preferring to keep things mysterious. I haven’t been transferred there yet; I will be in a while. May I ask the experts, is this a good thing or a bad thing?

After those three months, if you’ve achieved results, the manager will surely give you a clear answer.
