With the PSA unit associated with methanol-to-hydrogen production shut down for an extended period, what should be done with the adsorbents and catalysts? Currently, the equipment is kept under nitrogen sealing, but there are no plans to restart it in the near future. Considering that the utility fluids will also cease to be used, is it possible to pack the catalysts and adsorbents in containers for storage, or are there any other good solutions?
The system can be thoroughly purged with high-purity nitrogen, and then pressure can be maintained.
Drain all liquids from the entire system (conversion + PSA)~~ Introduce nitrogen with a low dew point and low oxygen content (preferably high-purity nitrogen), and seal it under positive pressure~~ If it is necessary to remove something from the system, it is recommended to remove only the catalyst; this should be done after the catalyst has been passivated, and the container should then be sealed with nitrogen. It is not recommended to remove the PSA adsorbent, as separation and reinstallation are quite troublesome~~
It is mainly to prevent moisture from entering, to stop the adsorbent from crumbling, and also to prevent ignition after replacement
