Help: Are there any factories in China that use the isobutylene two-step process to produce MMA? Thank you
Is the one-step oxidation method the main oxidation method used domestically nowadays?
Yes, Heze Huayi Yuhuang, Yidali
50,000 tons in Shanghai Degussa, and Wanhua is also in the process of building its facility
I’m sorry, I may not have explained myself clearly. What I mean is a process in which isobutylene is used to produce MAL, which is then directly esterified and oxidized in one step to yield MMA – with no intermediate step of producing methacrylic acid. Are there any factories of this kind in China? Thank you

Dongming Yuhuang and Yidali also undergo two oxidation steps; currently, there is no production method that involves one-step oxidation esterification
Yidali produces MMA through the direct esterification of MAL, while Wanhua and Degussa produce MMA via C4→MAL→MAA
The process of producing MAL from isobutylene, and then proceeding directly to MMA through esterification and oxidation in a single step, does not involve the production of methacrylic acid in between. Are there any factories of this type in China? This technology is not mature
