Intermediate tanks are generally used as buffers. For those with a dew point lower than the ambient temperature, is it necessary to install heating coils in the intermediate tank, or can it be treated as a continuous flow pipeline? If heating coils are used, how can local overheating be addressed?

For materials in intermediate tanks, if the dew point of gases is lower than the ambient temperature or the freezing point of liquids is lower than the ambient temperature, heat tracing must be applied. As for the issue of local overheating, it depends on the desired temperature level; one can opt for hot water heat tracing or electric heat tracing. In this way, local overheating can be avoided by controlling the temperature of the hot water or by directly setting the temperature of the electric heating element. Additionally, when designing the heat tracing coil, you also need to consider the distribution issue, which can help prevent localized overheating.
Heating should be added; if local overheating is a concern, a mild heating method can be chosen.
Heating should be required only when the ambient temperature is below the dew point or freezing point. For example, with water, no heating is needed when the ambient temperature is above 0°C; heating is necessary for the water only when the ambient temperature is below 0°C
Even in continuously flowing pipelines, dew formation is not recommended; whether due to corrosion or other hazards, the flow area is at least reduced. It is safe when the dew point is lower than the ambient temperature; the specific difference should be taken into consideration. It is not ruled out that after the process gas enters the buffer tank, a drop in pressure leads to heat absorption and dew formation. The ambient temperature is below
