A K-type thermocouple multimeter reads 0.5 mv, while the DCS displays 43 degrees; no temperature compensation is visible in the DCS configuration. Does anyone know where exactly this compensation temperature is applied? This thermocouple has temperature variation, and its signal type is FF
Thermocouple temperature compensation is used to offset the errors that occur when the cold end of the thermocouple is not at zero degrees; since the cold end of the thermocouple is exposed to temperature changes, I believe that cold-end compensation is relevant in terms of these temperature changes...
Then I removed the wire of the temperature sensing element; the DCS should display the temperature change. I’ll give it a try tomorrow.
