The drum pressure is 3.8 MPa. There is a regular blowdown pipe in the dead zone at the bottom of the drum system; this pipe has a diameter of DN50 and is equipped with two blowdown stop valves that are installed vertically. Due to factors such as water quality (deionized water: conductivity of 1 μs/cm, silica content of 20 mg/l), this section between the blowdown port and the valves often gets blocked, and it is difficult to clear it using various methods. In the absence of any possibility to improve the water quality for the time being, is there any room for improvement in terms of valve selection or operation? Thank you!
If the process operating conditions permit, increase the frequency of waste discharge, or carry out scheduled discharge

Changing to a larger pipe diameter (DN100) is a short and effective solution at present.
Replace the sewage valve with one of larger diameter, and also increase the frequency of discharge; open the continuous discharge valve wider. Desalinated water has a very low conductivity; it is necessary to consider whether there is a problem with the return water in order to fundamentally resolve the issue of high silicon content. With such a high silicon content, scaling occurs very easily, which is a safety hazard that needs to be addressed promptly.
