Selection of the gas seal medium for the equipment

According to the aforementioned standards, nitrogen or flammable gases are generally chosen as the gas used for sealing. So, can other waste gases be reused as sealing gases under conditions that meet the process requirements, such as hydrogen-rich gases or CO2?
The medium for the gas seal is preferably an inert gas or a similar type of gas. Hydrogen is an ideal choice for use as a gas seal in process equipment, while it is not recommended for use in atmospheric pressure storage tanks
