For carbon steel buried pipes like this, flange welds and flange covers are originally required at the ends of the pipes as plugs; but since there is no such material available, can a blind plate made of the same material be used instead and welded in place?
It is recommended to insert steel plates of appropriate thickness into the tube and weld them firmly; this will result in greater strength. Without a duct trench, it will be troublesome to replace pipes in case of leaks during maintenance.
Sure. Adding a flange is just to facilitate future cleaning. It is better to prepare a proper groove and ensure full penetration during welding.
