Is it okay to install a breather valve on a diesel storage tank to allow air to be drawn in?
At atmospheric pressure, with no oxygen exclusion, the gas phase space is already air.
It’s no problem to keep it under control; at most, flammable materials are in contact with oxygen. If something goes wrong, an ignition source is still needed···
Originally, a diesel storage tank only requires pipes leading to the atmosphere, and no vent valve is needed
For diesel tanks, we usually use nitrogen sealing during the design process.
Use in combination with a nitrogen seal and a vent valve!
Iron sulfide can cause spontaneous combustion; it is recommended to use nitrogen blanketing.
Gas station diesel storage tanks should be equipped with rainproof flame arresters; for large storage areas, diesel tanks are advised to have nitrogen sealing in addition to flame arrestor breather valves
