According to Article 15.3.7 of the Boiler Room Design Code GB50041, when a boiler room is located underground, the number of air changes per hour must be at least 12. Article 4 further states that the amount of fresh air entering the boiler room should be three times the amount required for air exchange in that room. The note specifies that this amount of air exchange does not include the air needed for combustion. So, is the amount of fresh air required for an underground boiler room equal to the volume of the boiler room multiplied by 12? So what does the total fresh air volume in Article 4 mean? ? Must it be 3 times the air exchange rate of the boiler room? The more I look at it, the more confused I get
Ventilation is divided into displacement ventilation and recirculation ventilation. In some large or tall buildings, if only recirculation ventilation is used with no fresh air being introduced, the oxygen level in the air gradually decreases as combustion continues, which is not acceptable. Therefore, the ventilation volume is determined based on the volume of the factory building: if the height is less than 6 meters, the entire volume is used; if the height is greater than 6 meters, the volume corresponding to 6 meters can be used. For example: Total air exchange volume = 12 * Air exchange volume. Among them, the fresh air volume is >3*the ventilation volume; due to the confusing wording in the standards, it is recommended to add 3 times the ventilation volume when calculating the air volume. Additionally, the amount of air required for combustion in the boiler is not included in the above calculations and must be added separately.
