What is the purpose of the maximum closing pressure difference of a valve?
The maximum pressure difference between the upstream and downstream sides of the valve disc of the valve closing element, at which pressure difference the valve can be operated. Denotes the symbol MPD. If the valve is opened or closed when the maximum pressure difference is exceeded, it will cause scratches or damage to the valve’s sealing ring, ultimately affecting the valve’s sealing performance.
