Teacher Yan Changling recently published an article titled “In Depth: How Should Control Rooms/Cabinet Areas for Devices with Fire and Explosion Risks Be Rectified?” in which he discusses the issue of cabinets being located too close together within such device areas. Relevant documents and standards are provided as references: Document No. 121 issued by the State Administration of Work Safety on November 13, 2017, titled “Criteria for Identifying Major Potential Hazards in Production Safety Incidents in Chemical and Hazardous Chemicals Production and Operation Units”; SH/T 3006, the Code for Design of Petrochemical Control Rooms; “GB 50160-2008 Fire Protection Design Standards for Petrochemical Enterprises”, revised edition in 2018. Document No. 78 issued by the Ministry of Emergency Management on August 12, 2019, titled “Guidelines for Identifying and Addressing Safety Risks and Hazards in Hazardous Chemicals Enterprises”; “GB50779-2012 Code for Blast Resistance Design of Petrochemical Control Rooms”. On April 1, 2020, Annex 3 of the “Three-Year Action Plan for Special Rectification of Work Safety” titled “Implementation Plan for the Three-Year Action Plan for Special Rectification of Hazardous Chemicals Safety”. In September 2021, the Office of the State Council’s Work Safety Commission issued the “Manual for Expert Guidance and Services in Key Counties Concerning Hazardous Chemicals”, among others.
According to the diagrams in Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings 18J811-1, adjacency here is allowed with a wall separating them.
However, some teachers pointed out that this wall should have double columns and double walls. Wouldn’t that mean there are two buildings?
