This marks a significant milestone in the construction of this project. The unit serves as a key element for ensuring material balance between the refining and chemical areas of the Guangxi Petrochemical integration and transformation project, and it is currently the world’s largest diesel adsorption and separation unit under construction. The completion of this project is of great significance for promoting the transformation and upgrading of China’s refining and chemical industry, meeting the market demands of the regions along the new land-sea corridor in the west, and establishing a petrochemical industry cluster worth trillions of yuan aimed at serving ASEAN. The project commenced on October 6, 2023, and through the concerted efforts of all parties involved, all construction tasks were completed on schedule in 451 days. The project team planned meticulously and organized things effectively, overcoming various challenges such as limited working space at the site, concurrent tasks, and extreme heat. The project manager and construction manager directed and coordinated the human resources of various specialties on site, motivated the construction workers, ensured that no work areas were left idle and that construction activities continued without interruption, and helped to achieve all set targets. As a result, tasks such as the installation of 2,635 tons of steel structures, the welding of 121,248 inches of pipes, the installation of 131 mechanical and electrical devices, and the laying of 11.22 kilometers of cables were completed on schedule. The first-pass welding success rate was as high as 99.89%, which won high praise from the client and the supervision agency. After the project shifted from the civil construction phase to the installation phase, various specialties began working simultaneously, resulting in numerous overlapping tasks and a significant increase in pressure regarding safety management. The project department ensures localized management of each construction area, clearly defines responsibility zones, and strictly enforces implementation across all aspects such as personnel, systems, and machinery. Faced with challenges such as limited space, frequent large-scale lifting operations, and a large number of lifting equipment, the project team conducted thorough safety and technical briefings, optimized the lifting plans, and adhered to the principle of \"one inspection per lift.\" Through a three-step safety inspection process before, during, and after lifting, they ensured the safe and reliable execution of large-scale lifting operations, striving to advance the project construction safely and efficiently in accordance with the predetermined timelines.
