Are the green pipelines 01 and 02 duplicated? Can the 02 pipeline be removed?
002 refers to pressure equalization in the gas phase; 001 is likely related to concerns that accumulated gas may prevent liquid from flowing
02 corresponds to the venting of the lower small storage tank, while 01 is the venting of the π-shaped bend. If 02 is removed, liquid flows down from the upper storage tank – how then can the gas in the lower storage tank be vented?
01 is used to break the siphoning effect; otherwise, the liquid seal would be pointless
01 is used to control the liquid level in the large tank, while 02 maintains pressure balance between the large and small tanks to facilitate fluid flow!
Excellent design and piping. 01 and 02 serve different purposes; the 02 pipeline cannot be removed. 01 is for breaking the siphon, 02 is the vent pipe of the lower storage tank.

This is a technically complex piping design that deserves discussion on the platform. The design drawings are accurate; the blue pipe is an overflow pipe that controls the liquid level in the tank above (the designer specified three possible liquid levels). The two horizontal valves on the blue pipe are used to adjust the liquid level in the tank. Green Pipe 01 is a vent pipe for breaking a siphon effect; once a siphon occurs, the tank above it will be emptied. Can the green pipeline be omitted? The answer is yes! But there must be one prerequisite: the diameter of the horizontal pipe right after the top blue pipe must be large enough so that the pipe section beyond that horizontal pipe will never become filled during the overflow process. This type of piping is also used in reaction vessels.
