What is the notation for equipment with openings in floor slabs and small steel platforms?

Is this the way to represent an opening in the floor – with a circle followed by an arc on the left? If a small steel platform is placed on the floor and the equipment is fixed to that platform using brackets, does that circular equipment also need to be represented with a circle followed by an arc?
Doesn’t this arc indicate that the device is cylindrical? I think the situation you’re referring to should be shown on an elevation view; the floor plan should only consider the equipment on the floors.
As drawings for concrete floors and steel structures, this will suffice. For square holes, a right angle can be added inside to indicate the opening.
