Dear experts, our company currently has a reaction tank that is 5 meters in diameter, 2.6 meters in height, with an end cap of 80 cm; in this tank, materials are reacted with sulfuric acid to produce resin. Currently, four agitators are in use: paddle-type agitators, with 33 revolutions per minute at the center and 48 revolutions per minute for the three ones on the periphery. I would like to ask how I can make improvements to enhance the mixing effect.
The choice of material system and mixer is highly relevant. Try increasing the mixing area or replacing the mixer. Also, for a container of such a large diameter, a baffle should be installed to increase mixing and enhance the stirring effect.
For example, using baffles, increasing the rotational speed, enlarging the blade area, adding more fan blades, or adjusting the blade inclination angle as needed
1. Add baffles to enhance backmixing effect； 2. Modify the hollow shaft so that during mixing, liquid is drawn from the bottom and discharged in the upper middle part ； 3. Change the method of adding sulfuric acid to improve its dispersion, such as by atomization
The most direct way to improve mixing efficiency is to increase the rotational speed and blade area.
