Pump selection: When is it necessary to choose a centrifugal pump with a sealing system? What are the types of seals?
Are there any other issues besides toxicity and harm? How does the sealing system of a centrifugal pump work?
For high-temperature with particles, the PLAN32 approach is usually adopted, while for high-temperature water, PLAN23 is used; specific cases are handled on a case-by-case basis. There are too many operating conditions.
What is the principle behind a pump’s sealing system?
The purpose of the sealing system is to provide a better environment for the mechanical seal. This can be divided into many specific effects. 1. Flush to dissipate heat. The heat generated by the liquid seal must be controlled. This can be achieved by flushing the sealing chamber with liquid to carry away heat and control temperature rise. 2. Lower the liquid temperature. In some cases, the liquid temperature is too high, affecting the sealing performance. In such cases, the temperature must be lowered to improve the properties of the liquid. 3. Change the pressure in the sealing chamber. In some cases, it is necessary to increase or decrease the pressure in the sealing chamber to improve performance. This can be achieved by suppressing evaporation or reducing the thermal load on the seals. 4. Cleaning process liquid. If the process fluid contains inappropriate solid particles or contaminants, it is necessary to clean the fluid inside the sealed chamber. In extreme cases, it may also be necessary to supply a clean liquid from outside the sealing system. 5. Control the atmospheric side of the seal. Since the process liquids are in contact with the atmosphere, they may dry out, crystallize, or coking. It is very important to prevent interaction with the atmosphere in order not to adversely affect the sealing performance. Sealing systems can also provide methods for detecting and controlling seal leaks. 6. Capture and/or prevent leaks. A sealing system can provide a way to prevent leakage to the atmosphere. Moreover, they can also provide installation backup for the main seal. This will provide users with the opportunity to operate for a short period of time in the event of a seal failure, so as to shut down the equipment more systematically. 7. Detect leaks. A flushing system can be selected to measure the leakage rate and monitor the sealing performance.
The poster needs to first accumulate knowledge related to mechanical seals.
