I found it strange to hear people evaluating a layout and saying, “This is a coal chemical industry layout” or “that’s a petrochemical industry layout.” The fire safety regulations for the coal chemical industry, which had been under discussion for a long time, ultimately failed to be implemented, so now the layout planning follows the petrochemical industry standards GB50160, as well as HG20546; for more specific details, SH3011 from the petrochemical industry is referred to. There isn’t any specific standard designated solely for the coal chemical industry. I believe the difference between coal chemical industry and petroleum chemical industry lies fundamentally in their processes. Just as different raw materials and varying chemical processing arrangements are used under the same standards, different process flows lead to different equipment and varying process requirements, which in turn result in differences in the layout. But it’s possible that I’m not well-informed, so I still want to figure things out and would like to hear the opinions of other forum members. The value of technology lies in communication; I hope everyone will feel free to share their insights!
This varies depending on the specific manufacturing processes and design parameters. The operating conditions in oil refining facilities are much more stringent than those in coal chemical plants, but most facilities do not have such extreme production conditions. Regulations exist for safety reasons, and adhering to them makes a significant difference compared to not following them at all
We are coal chemical enterprises, and for our general layout planning, we generally follow three standards: the \"Code for General Layout Design of Industrial Enterprises\" (GB50187-2012), the \"Code for Fire Protection Design of Buildings\" (GB50016-2014), and the \"Code for Fire Protection Design of Petrochemical Enterprises\" (GB50160-2008). When safety inspectors come for inspections, they also use these standards; I’ve really never seen any others used
So we agree on this; there are hardly any other differences, and any so-called differences are due to variations in the manufacturing process. It’s not that coal chemical projects have a separate set of standards to follow.
Hasn’t the fire protection code for coal chemical engineering design been released yet?
I later found out that coal has its own standards before gasification and liquefaction; once it becomes gas or liquid, the petrochemical standards apply. Thank you to the user above for answering
