Can the cabinet room be located in an explosion-proof area? ?
1. Distribution cabinets should not be placed in explosive areas, not only due to the need for explosion-proof electrical equipment, but also because an explosion in such areas can affect the distribution facilities, hindering accident response and emergency handling. Additionally, the maintenance costs associated with explosion-proof distribution cabinets are high, which is why they are generally not used. What’s important is that the distribution cabinet is located in that area, and the safety distance is insufficient. It is also stated in 50160 that an explosion-proof wall can be used for complete isolation, but it remains a hassle anyway. 2. The control rooms, cabinet rooms, and power distribution stations meet the regulatory requirements by being located outside the explosion-hazardous areas, with sufficient safety distances; as a result, the corresponding electrical equipment does not need to be explosion-proof. This is the arrangement adopted in the majority of chemical plants today for their control rooms, cabinet rooms, and power distribution systems.
However, Code 3.6.9 permits the control room to be adjacent to Class A and B factories on one side; in such cases, the control room may end up within an explosion-hazardous area
pH meters and thermometers need to be inserted from the top of the tank, but since the tank is 6 meters deep, this requires inserting them quite far down (although in practice they are only inserted up to 3 meters deep; this makes it impossible to take readings when the liquid level is low, and it also increases the risk of damaging the probes due to movement). In building codes, the requirement that the control room be adjacent to Class A or B factories refers to factories classified as fire hazard Class A or B, rather than explosion-proof factories, right?
