Pressure relief manholes are usually designed for direct discharge; this is the last resort, and there is generally no need for collection! For safety valves, the material that comes out, as well as safe water and steam, can be discharged directly to a safe location. For process materials, there are generally collection tanks; it is best if they can hold liquids. In chemical plants, for materials that can be burned, sending them to the flare system is the usual choice.
There are two destinations for safety valves: one is for on-site discharge (to a safe location), such as in deaerators, and the other is to the flare stack (gas holder). All toxic, harmful substances, or pollutants are discharged through sealed systems. If a pressure vessel is equipped with a rupture disc, it is most likely to contain harmless substances
There are pressure relief holes, but no pressure relief manholes – that’s really terrifying.
Steam, nitrogen, and the like can be vented directly; in other cases, it depends on the properties of the medium, and usually a separate pipeline needs to be connected to the flare system or abatement system.
