I’m new to design work, and I would like to ask the seniors in design firms: are there any electronic collections of samples for various types of equipment? Sometimes it’s quite troublesome to check a sample
Usually not, and there’s no need for it.
It’s things like the size and power of various devices, you know! For example, cooling towers, pumps, fans – we have some paper samples in our office, sent to us by the manufacturers; there aren’t many electronic versions

Design institutes are faced with a wide variety of projects, and suppliers also offer a diverse range of products. There is no need for design institutes to create and maintain a massive database for this ever-changing and diverse product market; it is neither possible nor necessary. The design institute is only responsible for selecting products that meet the project’s requirements in accordance with relevant standards and specifications; it does not compromise the project’s needs to satisfy the supplier’s parameters.

Equipment is divided into standard (fixed-type) equipment and custom-made equipment. Standard (fixed-type) equipment is usually sourced from manufacturers, and samples can be requested from them to build up a collection over time.
A sample for equipment selection is highly necessary.
