The prohibition of using insulating materials for connections is aimed at ensuring that the static electricity in the entire pipeline can be discharged promptly; here, this refers to the existence of alternative conductive sealing materials (metal gaskets). To ensure safety, it is generally required to use wires for bridging between the flanges as well. For threaded connections, it is necessary to use PTFE materials for sealing, as this provides the best sealing effect. But it is still necessary to properly perform static grounding.
