What is the relationship between solution specific gravity, density, and solid content, along with the conversion formulas?
A solution generally does not contain solids, as a solution is defined to be homogeneous; if solid particles are dispersed in a solution, then it becomes a two-phase system, with the solid particles either suspended, floating, or settled within the mixture. In a homogeneous system, density is the specific gravity; it’s just that their physical meanings are defined differently. However, there should be no direct conversion relationship between the solid content and density or specific gravity, as the particle size of the solid particles and their form of existence in the liquid have a significant impact. This requires analysis based on specific circumstances. Icebergs in the ocean are an exception. The solid content of the mud is related to the size of the solid particles in the mud and their dispersion form.
There is no such thing as solid content in solutions; only slurries have solid content. For example, the formula shown in the image is used to calculate the density of limestone slurry, and it is primarily related to the density and solid content of the water used to prepare the slurry
Is the solid content of the slurry the amount of solids in the slurry divided by the amount of solidified material in the slurry? Is it the solid content in the slurry + the content of dissolved solids in the slurry / the content of the slurry-reinforced material?
The solid content refers only to the amount of solids; dissolved substances are not included
