Is cutting ethanol pipes with a hand saw considered a hot work task? Can you guarantee that no sparks or high temperatures will be generated during the sawing process?
It does not fall under hot work. But it must be done slowly.
Hot work refers to welding and cutting operations carried out in areas where such activities are prohibited, as well as temporary tasks using blowtorches, electric drills, grinding wheels, etc. in flammable and explosive environments that may generate flames, sparks, or hot surfaces. The boiling point is 78.2°C, the closed-flash point is 14°C, and the melting point is -114.3°C. By definition, a hand saw can generate a hot surface; and since the medium flowing in the pipeline is ethanol, appropriate technical management measures having been taken, this permit is not necessary.
Why not remove the pipe and take it somewhere else to cut?
Firework operation management is not required. However, risk prevention measures should be considered.
