Can Hastelloy C replace nickel materials?

We have a differential pressure level gauge that is used in an environment with 50% alkali at 150 degrees Celsius; it’s made of nickel. Now the diaphragm of this gauge has broken, and we are considering using a level gauge made of Hastelloy C as a temporary replacement. Is this suitable?

The same situation can occur in series HC as well, but it should not be a major problem for temporary use. For high temperatures and high concentrations of caustic soda, Monel would be a better choice.
