Sichuan Vinylon Plant of Sinopec Group possesses independently developed technology for producing acetylene through natural gas cracking, but this technology is not licensed or transferred to external parties； BASF also has similar technology that can be licensed for external use.
There are currently three technologies for producing acetylene from natural gas: the Ukrainian technology, the domestic Chuanwei technology, and the BASF technology. Compared overall, Chuanwei Technology is reliable.
