Firstly, according to SHT3007, a nitrogen seal is required when there is a breathing valve; moreover, considering the presence of irritating gases, it is necessary to collect the exhaled gases in a sealed manner. Phosphorus trichloride does not burn and has a high boiling point, so a nitrogen seal is probably not needed. However, it emits smoke when exposed to humid air, producing HCl that can corrode metals – this aspect needs to be taken into account, as specified in some rules of SHT3007
