For small-flow centrifugal pumps without seal cooling water (3 liters/h), which are being upgraded through technical modifications while making use of existing equipment, what is the maximum temperature of the medium they can handle?
The flow rate calibration for the centrifugal pump at 3 m3/h – is that the flow rate? Is there anything else?
Centrifugal pumps have a low entry threshold, and there are significant differences among different manufacturers, making them incomparable to one another. It’s also difficult to determine when the head and operating pressure are different.

It’s sufficient to use a temperature below the saturation temperature under the working pressure; for this, one needs to consult a table, using the saturation temperatures corresponding to the pump’s suction pressure and discharge pressure. It’s worth giving it a try. Regarding the impact on the temperature of the mechanical seal, cavitation is the main factor to consider.
There will be no cavitation. The main concern is whether this temperature, over a long period of time, could have an impact on the motor bearings Can it be tolerated?
For bearings lubricated with glycerin, a temperature of 70°C should be sufficient as a conservative estimate; the regulations regarding motor bearing temperatures can be used as a reference.
