Are there any regulations or standards regarding process alarms and values?

The high and low alarm values are provided by process engineers based on the characteristics of the process
It is mainly determined based on the actual conditions of the process, but the issue of lag in process parameters must be taken into account to set reasonable alarm values. For some ** or parameters specified by industry standards, the alarm values must be set in accordance with laws and regulations. For example, there are clear requirements for the alarm settings regarding the liquid level in the solvent storage tanks in the tank farm.
It’s best to consult your operating procedures. If you want to find the relevant regulations, ask the designer if he knows them. There are also cases where settings need to be changed, and a written report on the technical modification must be submitted.
It is set according to the circumstances within the normal range; if the range is too small, alarms will be triggered frequently, while if it is too large, the warning effect will be weak
