The reactor heating system uses a low-pressure steam drum; in winter, the area around the discharge outlet is filled with water, making it prone to freezing. Do anyone have good ways to reduce emissions or prevent spread through barriers?
As long as the insulation and other aspects are in order, and indeed that much steam is required, your issue actually lies in recovering this vaporized steam and condensate. For the steam, it should be checked whether it can be condensed at a lower pressure; the vaporized condensate can then be directly recovered and reused
If flash evaporation still occurs despite the use of hydrophobic equipment, it indicates insufficient heat exchange; in such cases, material preheating should be considered. If heat is still not sufficient, using boiler soft water for spraying to absorb it could be an option (I’ve never seen anyone use this method:lol).

Direct this steam back to the soft water tank to preheat the soft water, or send it to the deaeration tank; in this way, environmental problems are resolved and energy savings are also achieved.
The approach to take in such situations depends on the actual conditions on site. If there is a deaerator nearby, or if devices or equipment that require low-temperature heating are available, they can be used directly for recovery, which is the simplest method and also yields the best results in terms of recovery efficiency. If such options are not available, then a spray tower can be used for recovery, or a heat exchanger can be employed for condensation-based recovery. In any case, it is necessary to decide on the most suitable method based on the actual circumstances.
