As the title suggests, I’m looking for colleagues in the isooctanoic acid industry to discuss this matter
Isooctanoic acid can be produced by the direct oxidation of isooctanol; the formation of isooctyl esters is the most classic esterification reaction.
In the isooctanol oxidation process, I see that water consumption is quite high; it seems that continuous production isn’t possible. I’ve looked up information on butyraldehyde condensation, but couldn’t find any relevant processes.
How is this product performing in the market right now?
It’s okay; mainly, we are already dealers, so our customer base is relatively stable
How much is it per ton in the market now? With aldehyde prices so high, is there still any profit to be made?
I’m not familiar with the process of butyral condensation, and it’s also impossible to calculate the specific costs
