In chemical processing as well as in pipelines for storage and transportation, safety valves are generally used; an on-site pressure gauge is installed in front of the safety valve to display the pressure within the system. For example, if the set pressure of the safety valve is 1.5 MPa, what should be the value indicated by the red line at 2/3 of the scale on the pressure gauge located in front of the safety valve? What design specifications or standards serve as a basis for this? Thank you.
The red line on the pressure gauge usually indicates the maximum operating pressure, while the set pressure of the safety valve is generally 1.05–1.1 times the maximum operating pressure; you can calculate this yourself
