On September 22, 2020, **the President** delivered an important speech during the general debate of the 75th United Nations General Assembly: This pandemic teaches us that humanity needs to embark on a self-revolution, accelerate the adoption of green development patterns and lifestyles, and work towards building an ecological civilization and a beautiful Earth. Mankind cannot ignore nature’s repeated warnings any longer and continue down the path of focusing only on taking without giving, on development without protection, and on exploitation without restoration. The Paris Agreement on addressing climate change represents the overall direction for a global transition toward greener and lower-carbon development; it is the minimum action required to protect our planet, and all countries must take decisive steps. China will increase its **national commitments, adopt more effective policies and measures, strive to reach a peak in carbon dioxide emissions by 2030, and work toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2060. Countries should adopt a new development philosophy characterized by innovation, coordination, sustainability, openness, and sharing. They must seize the historic opportunities presented by the new round of scientific and technological revolutions and industrial changes, promote a \"green recovery\" of the world economy after the pandemic, and build a strong synergy for sustainable development. ----Carbon peak, carbon neutrality ; Have you all gotten involved in achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality? I’m participating! !
