What material should be used for containers for ammonium chloride? Is 316 suitable?
Temperature, concentration – don’t use them if they’re not specified clearly
Lined with plastic, or made of titanium alloy, to resist chloride corrosion

For containers, steel lined with plastic is sufficient; for reactors, steel lined with titanium should be used – stainless steel cannot be used as chloride ions are a concern

Use PP when the temperature is not high; titanium or PTFE can be used when the temperature is high
Consulting the corrosion data manual, for 316L material, it exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in ammonium chloride solutions with a concentration of less than 10% at temperatures below 100°C. Can 316L material be used in actual production with such ammonium chloride solutions? Moreover, different chlorides also have varying effects on the corrosion of 316L. Why is it said that stainless steel cannot be used in solutions containing chloride ions?
