According to a report from Company E and Sinopec, recent industrial trials were conducted at Yangzhou Petrochemical using crude oil catalytic cracking technology developed independently by Sinopec’s Research Institute of Petroleum and Chemical Technology; this technology enables the direct conversion of crude oil into chemicals such as light olefins and aromatics. This represents the world’s first industrial application of crude oil catalytic cracking technology, marking a breakthrough in China’s technology for converting crude oil directly into chemicals and establishing China as a leader in this field of crude oil catalytic cracking technology.
