Sinopec discusses plans to expand the ethylene production facility at Fujian United Petrochemical Company

Relevant departments of Sinopec discussed the plan for the expansion of the ethylene production facility at Fujian United Petrochemical Company. On April 22, the International Cooperation Department of Sinopec organized experts from the company’s Development Planning Department, Refining Division, and Chemicals Division to review the preliminary plans for this expansion project. Relevant personnel from Sinopec’s Development Planning Department, Fujian United Petrochemical’s Technology and Planning Department, and Sinopec Engineering Construction Co., Ltd. (SEI) attended the seminar. At the meeting, relevant personnel from Fujian United Petrochemical Company gave a detailed presentation on the overall strategy for project planning, its necessity and advantages, the overall progress of the project, the work plans for the next phase, as well as the research plan for the syngas utilization project. The relevant personnel from SEI presented the project feasibility study plan, explaining aspects such as the project overview, construction scale, product design, overall process flow, and the favorable conditions for project implementation. The experts present agreed with the current research plan for the expansion of Fujian United Petrochemical’s ethylene production capacity, calling for full utilization of the existing integrated refining and petrochemical facilities, further optimization of resource allocation and technical options, thorough development of subsequent plans, in order to enhance the competitiveness of the project.
