For an oxidation tower measuring 2m by 6.5m in size, with a weight of 40 tons when filled with water, the owner has requested that no foot bolts be used (the existing equipment’s foundation is to be utilized, as it is considered capable of bearing the weight; foot bolts are not needed). Is this in compliance with the regulations?
The equipment was purchased directly from the manufacturer; it has not yet been designed by a design institute
With a height-to-diameter ratio of 3.25:1, I personally think foundation bolts should still be used. The standards also require this. The design and manufacturing manufacturers will certainly require it to be installed. It depends on your confidence. When I encountered owners like this before, I would simply turn on my computer and tell them: Sure, no problem at all. It’s a simple matter; I’ll prepare a document right now, you sign it, and I’ll carry out what’s specified!
