A lot of foam is generated when VOCs pass through the sodium hypochlorite tower. In this tower, sodium hypochlorite is sprayed from the top of the packed tower downward by a material pump, while the VOCs move from the bottom to the top; as a result, a large amount of foam is produced inside the tower. I’m not sure what the reason for this is
Solvents have surface tension, which leads to the formation of bubbles; even pure water contains bubbles, though they disappear quickly. In the case of wastewater, bubbles are more noticeable and do not disappear easily.
There is a lot of foam, lots of small, thick bubbles – is this due to the decomposition of sodium hypochlorite?
If you use a different solution, there will still be a lot of foam.
