Are all stop valves hard-sealed? What about gate valves? Which valves have only a hard seal and no soft seal?
Isn’t the valve a requirement for the process? If you want a hard seal, then it should be a hard seal; if you want a soft seal, then it should be a soft seal. For steam, a hard seal is generally preferred. Hard-sealed ones are expensive.
