Is it correct to connect the steam trap directly to the main steam pipe like this? Is there such a trap?
It is incorrect to connect the desuperheater directly to the main steam pipe. Normally, pipe flange connections should be used to install steam traps. If drainage is required on the pipeline, a trap with an additional drain port should be selected. .
Without context, hydrophobicity can be on the steam main. For example, the heating steam for the jacket coil of the reactor.
What does it mean to install a valve downstream of the steam trap?
It remains to be confirmed whether it is a strainer. It’s hard to tell from the appearance.
It looks like an inverted bucket steam trap, but I’ve never seen it installed in this manner. It could also be a basket strainer
