We have a mixing tank for treating wastewater; the diameter of the lower impeller is much smaller than the diameter of the tank. We need to add chemicals; there is some sediment accumulated at the bottom. The areas reached by the paddle blades are relatively clean, while in the areas it cannot reach, a thick layer of insoluble silt has accumulated. Is there any easy way to eliminate it?

If the pipe at the bottom is blocked, this method can clear it. Mine isn’t blocked right now; it’s just stuck there and can’t come out. The stirrer paddle can’t reach it, so it just stays there quietly. The central feeding pipe is equipped with an agitator, so there is no silt accumulation. It’s all around. The stirrer has 2 layers, larger on top and smaller at the bottom; less material can be stirred in the lower layer
If there is no blockage, there’s no need to worry about it; in a reaction involving iron powder reduction, a small portion of the iron powder at the bottom of the tank isn’t reached by the stirring. If you really want to solve it, try turning it over and mixing it
Changing the shape of the blade downward might be effective
Based on the shape of the bottom of the equipment, modify the stirrer blades to cover as much area as possible; that should work.
Add hard abrasives with a density and water content similar to those, and stir together. . , this is for reference only as I have no experience.
