I’m a graduate student in chemical engineering, from Taiyuan. I have two job offers and am having trouble deciding which one to choose, so I’m seeking advice from everyone. I don’t really care about how far the workplace is from home or the starting salary; instead, I want to consider my long-term career development. It would be best to be able to work at the same company for a long time. Although I think design is a more suitable field for me right now, it’s not possible to dedicate my entire life to design. 1. Procurement position at Tianchen (Tianjin). 2. Design position at the Nuclear Power Design Institute (Chengdu); a permanent job position is available.
From your profile, it seems you are an experienced professional in the chemical industry. As I am only a master’s graduate, my understanding of this industry is still limited; I simply think that the prospects for the chemical industry are not as good as those in nuclear power. Could you please explain briefly why you hold such an opinion?
Does the senior have any knowledge about the Nuclear Power Institute? After all, it’s a classified organization, so it’s hard to find any information about it, right? Opinions on Zhihu are also mixed.
It is recommended to handle the technical aspects first, and then proceed with procurement.
The company’s training method involves spending a year in the equipment department before moving on to procurement. Do you think such an approach is suitable for career development?
Do design work; the position of procurement is highly replaceable. Personal suggestion.
Listen to your wife’s and family’s opinions, and take your own personality into account. Ability to endure loneliness (Neixiang County), design. Loves interacting with people (extroverted), procurement.
